(FILES) A file picture taken on May 19, 2011 shows Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh looking on during a tour of the Irish National Stud in Kildare, on the third day of the Queen’s four-day visit to Ireland. The Duke of Edinburgh, the 90-year-old husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, was taken to hospital on December 23, 2011 for “precautionary tests” after suffering from chest pains, Buckingham Palace confirmed. “His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh was taken to Papworth Hospital in Cambridge from Sandringham House for precautionary tests after experiencing chest pains,” said a statement issued by the palace.
